On Wednesday, February 19th, Metro Catholic School took second place at the St. Edward High School Classroom of Champions. The competition consisted of three rounds on topics such as geography, history, literature, pop culture, science and religion. Our team answered some tough questions, gave the other teams a run for their money and made us proud!
Preparation for Classroom of Champions began last year when seventh graders Jonathan, Aaron and Jalen served as alternates in preparation for this year as team members in eighth grade. This year's alternates were selected based on general knowledge and also evaluated through a written test. The students agreed to meet after school and also reviewed information on their own. Since response time is as crucial as knowledge, the members and alternates practiced with buzzers.
The team is grateful to Sr. Grace Corbett for coaching with Miss Surace and providing questions.
Congratulations to our second place winners: Aaron (Captain), Jalen and Jonathan and alternates Tatu, Isaiah, Abdel, Giovanni, and Princess.
